Mungo Jerry — британская рок-группа, образованная певцом и автором песен Рэем Дорсетом в 1969 году в Лондоне, Англия, и исполнявшая эклектичный «корневой» поп-рок с элементами рокабилли, блюза, ритм-энд-блюза, скиффла, рок-н-ролла и т. д. Восемь синглов группы входили в UK Top 40; самый известный из которых, «In the Summertime», в июне 1970 года возглавил британский хит-парад и семь недель оставался на его вершине.

Хочу обратить внимание почтенной публики на незаслуженно обойденную вниманием композицию "Tramp".
По моему мнению это очень достойная и в музыкальном и в текстовом смысле песня. По сравнению с которой, восхваляемая в свое время на каждом углу, но примитивная (ИМХО) "In The Summertime", и рядом не стояла.
Привожу английский текст (переводить не берусь ибо поэтического таланта не имею. Но знающим язык рекомендую вчитаться и вслушаться).

The sun was low, and the shadow was cold,
On the pale drawn face, that was wrinkled and old,
A newspaper coat, hanging loose 'round his throat,
And the shoes on his feet, strips of leather tied up with rope,
His uncombed hair, and eyes that would stare,
At the people passing by, who didn't know or didn't care
Chorus:
This poor old man he's all alone,
He's got no money or no home of his own,
The back street's his kitchen,
The footpath's his hall,
And the chalk on the brick work,
Are the pictures on his wall,
