It is not the first time that Embryo performs with Gnawa musicians.
Since the 70s, Еmbryo has been performing with musicians who have their origins in this type
of Black African Music. El Houssaine Kili, who later performed with the DISSIDENTEN met
Christian Burchard in 1976. He cannot be considered to be an original Gnawa artist,
since he more or less adapted their style to his own compositions.
His knowledge about Gnawa music is mostly due to the fact that he copied their recordings.
Nevertheless, his recordnigs with the DISSIDENTEN and EMBRYO became highly popular,
since it was a new type of fusion music that emerged.
